In an emergency situation, any failure of the main power supply can have a disastrous effect. Sudden darkness can pose threats and hazards to occupants of the property, either through physical injury or panic. Emergency lighting can be an effective and extremely useful solution, as it is able to operate automatically and provides enough illumination for safe and efficient evacuation.
Here at AWAlarms we are able to design, install & commission emergency lighting systems, as well as carry out routine maintenance and testing in line with British Standard BS5266
Did You Know!
Having an emergency light system fitted gives you a duty of care to have the following undertaken:-
- Checking functional operation “at least every month”
- Full rated duration test (on each luminaire) “at least annually” (full discharge of batteries to check all working as required)
- Logging of failures to any part of the system and introducing alternate safety procedures until this is repaired
- Recording all testing and repair information in a logbook
